This is not a "get what you
see" movie. It's more of a "see what you get" kind of
thing, if you get my drift. Watch it a few times and see if you can
figure it out. Those who oppose "thinking" films would hate
it... it's NOT mindless!
Trivia from the Movie (Spoilers for
those who haven't seen it!)
The whole film is shot through the eyes
of the main character, who is thinking what you are hearing - this is
why the talking is echoed.
The violin playing you hear over the
top resembles her hobby. When we hear her talking about doing what she
wants during the last days, we see her staring down at her violin.
Before we discover the world has ended,
we see the camera staring at Frankie's pick axe, not moving. This is
because she chose not to anything else during her last days, but the
violin keeps playing.
She says Frankie ended the world,
starting with her. Why? Because she is schizophrenic and Frankie is
all in her mind. Therefore, she was the one to end the world.
